Fashion Africa Voices are our mini city focused events. They have a direct focus on business, entrepreneurship and sustainability within Africa’s fashion and textile industry industry.

Fashion Africa Voices present intimate talks that bring together a small niche group of entrepreneurs and SME businesses with an aim to support their business development goals and get them on the road to success knowing that ultimately this is important in driving success in Africa’s textile industry.

Launched in London with Tanzanian designer Christine Mhando of Chichia London, we headed to the continent for the next edition. The Accra city edition took place in the heart of Ghana’s central city of Accra at the British Council offices

Fashion Africa Voices events include

  • Up close and personal one-to-one interviews with influential members from the African fashion industry, business community, retail experts and academia
  • Open group discussions with attendees with Q&A to gain advice from key influencers
  • Key networking opportunity

The panellists appeared knowledgeable in this field. Also, the content of the discussions were helpful and must be continued.

Fashion Africa Conference & Seminars

Fashion Africa Conference and Seminars were created to be a catalyst in the industry to help change perceptions of the fashion and textile industry in Africa and to ask those in Africa working in garment design and textile manufacturing what THEY think and need and so aim to keep these discussions ongoing in different locations annually where international industry leaders can connect, do business and initiate change.

The Fashion Africa Conference act as a revolutionary vehicle to create a social forum for all those attending to talk openly and share ideas, information and expertise, to raise awareness and elevate the perception of design from the African continent.

The seminar event is a unique platform bringing together actors in the field to discuss and promote the full supply chain of African Fashion Design, Textiles, and Manufacturing and thus communicate this to a larger, global audience through media.

Previous speakers have included Vlisco, Fashion For Good

  • Rosario Dawson and Abrima Erwiah of Studio 189, Simone Cipriani of Ethical Fashion Initiative (program of the Internation Trade Centre), designer Ladeuma Ngxokolo of MAXHOSA, Kukua Odoi of African Prints In Fashion, Lance Clark of Soul of Africa/Clarks Shoes, Tamsin Lejeune of Ethical Fashion Forum (Common Objective), Chris Springs of the British Museum, Ann McCreath of Kiko Romeo, Mark Stephenson of Sandstorm Kenya, Christina Bredehorst of Cotton Made in Africa and the late Daniele Tamagni (Style Photographer / Author) to name a few.
